Dr. Ahmed Moustafa is a development economist and an international expert. His career as an economic expert, macroeconomic, poverty and inclusive growth practice leader and chief Technical Adviser with the United Nations Development Programme and International Labour Organization spans around 20 years. Before joining the UNDP, he was an assistant professor of Economics at St. John’s University. He is the lead author of several UNDP high level reports, including the UN flagship report: “State of Human Development in the Pacific” which was launched at the 2014 SIDS summit in Apia, Samoa, and numerous academic and scholarly publications. He also co-authored the 2009/2010 UNDP “Arab Development Challenges”, Arab Human Development Report and “Food Security in the Arab Region” reports.
