
Mona El Baradei
Professor Mona El-Baradei, Professor of Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University, is a prominent Egyptian Economist. She was the Former Vice-Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, then the Former Head of the Economics Department, and the Former Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University (from 2005 through 2008) as the first woman to be appointed in the capacity of dean of the Faculty. She was also the Former Executive Director of the Egyptian National Competitiveness Council, ENCC (from 2008 through 2011). Then she was the Former Executive Director of the Egyptian Banking Institute, Central Bank of Egypt and has served in this position since 2011 till 2017. In 2009, Prof. Mona El Baradei received a very prestigious award from the Republic of France by virtue of a decree from the French Prime Minister and the French Ministry of Education. Dr. El Baradei was given the title of Dame of the Academic Palms “Chevalier dans L‘Ordre des Palmes Académiques” in recognition of her service to French culture. Also Prof. El Baradei has been selected among the top 50 Arab Leading Women in 2014. She is also a board member of a number of private and public institutions including: The Egyptian Society for Political Economy, Statistics and Legislation (since 1970); the General Committee of The Holding Company of Misr Electricity (since 2001).
